Google Analytics tracking code

Have problem with Google Analytics tracking through from main site to ecommerce conversion tracking on 3rd party shopping cart. Main site to shopping cart tracks ok, but not through to secure pages then through to confirm page.
Seems to be to do with getting the correct GA code in the correct places in the 3rd party cart, and/or correct set up of Google Analytics Account.
We have a lot of background information including advice from Google Help but haven’t been able to solve it. Problem seems to be in getting the correct GA code in the correct places in the shopping cart, but have trouble in getting the developers of the 3rd party cart to investigate. Main site is in .php on mydomain.com and hosted on one server, cart is in .asp on shop.mydomain.com and hosted on a different server, and clicking ‘order now’ button runs a javascript that goes to secureonlineshopping.biz/…. page for customer to enter their personal information (name, address etc) before selecting payment method which if credit card goes to payment gateway provider, or other payment method, then on to confirmation page.
Google Analytics account stops tracking at the point of clicking the ‘order now’ button, so can’t track ecommerce conversion tracking. Google Help says the combination of domain/sub domain, hosting on different servers, use of 3rd party cart etc is one that is not described in their Help articles but did provide the code they say we need and the various places in which to put it, but didn’t look in to how the cart ‘works’ and it seems it may be this that is where the problem lies. Plenty of background information available to support/inform/point you in the right direction, but seems like I need someone who can look into and understand how the coding of the cart works and put the GA tracking code in the right place - which I can’t, and the cart provider isn’t doing. Or maybe the tracking code is in there correctly but the GA Account isn’t set up correctly to track it? I’m sure it isn’t a big deal if you know ‘which screw to turn’
